I’m Ramith Attravanam, an Oracle EPM architect and finance-transformation practitioner with over a decade of experience helping organizations modernize how they close, consolidate, and report.
My work sits at the intersection of finance and technology. On the business side, that means faster and more reliable financial closes, consolidated reporting leaders can trust, and data that stands up to scrutiny from auditors, regulators, and executives alike. On the technical side, it means designing and implementing the Oracle EPM Cloud platform — financial consolidation and close, account reconciliation, enterprise data management, and narrative reporting — as a coherent, well-governed system rather than a collection of disconnected tools.
Across engagements in banking, financial services, and technology, I’ve learned that successful transformation is rarely about the software itself. It’s about translating finance requirements into sound architecture, aligning stakeholders around a single version of the truth, and making the design decisions early that determine whether a platform scales gracefully or becomes a maintenance burden.
This blog is where I share what I’ve learned bridging those two worlds — practical perspectives for finance and technology professionals who want their EPM investments to deliver real business value. I write for the practitioner who has to make the trade-offs, not just read about them.
I hold an MS in Management Information Systems from the University at Buffalo and a degree in Chemical Engineering from IIT Madras, and I’m a member of the Oracle ACE program.
